For rooms that get strong afternoon sun, solar shades cut glare and heat while keeping your view, and cellular shades add an insulating layer of air at the window. Plantation shutters in a moisture-resistant material also hold up well. We will show you samples at your own windows and recommend by room.
Neither is better everywhere. Plantation shutters are permanent, have no cords and are very durable, but they cost more up front. Blinds cost less, are easier to change later and suit secondary windows. Many homes use shutters on the main rooms and faux wood blinds or shades elsewhere.
In most rooms, yes. Faux wood does not absorb moisture, so it stays straight and keeps its color in humid kitchens, baths and laundry rooms. Real wood is lighter and has natural grain, and it works well in air-conditioned living spaces.
It depends how you use the door. Solar shades keep the view and cut glare, sheer vertical shades such as Norman SmartDrape are easy to walk through, shutters on a track give a built-in look, and motorization helps on very large doors. We will show you the options at the door itself.
Price depends on the number and size of your windows, the material, the louver size and options such as motorization or special shapes. We measure every window and give you one written quote covering the products, options and installation, so you know the full cost before you order.
Yes. Blackout cellular, roller and roman shades block light through the fabric, and side channels reduce the small gaps at the edges. We will show you the choices and how each one closes.
